Our Team
Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Lila Perry is a lifelong entrepreneur and community leader. She owned and operated Perkins Coffee Company and a beloved local bakery for many years in Downtown Nanaimo, creating spaces that brought people together over good food and conversation. Beyond business, Lila dedicated decades to volunteer service, including her long-standing role as a board member with Community Futures Central Island and later GrowthWorks, supporting small business development across Vancouver Island.
In 2023, after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer, Lila’s life took a profound turn. Her experience revealed the many gaps in support for individuals facing serious illness, inspiring her to found Ripple Effects for Health and Wellness—a non-profit organization devoted to raising funds and awareness for people living with cancer and other health-related challenges. Through Ripple Effects, Lila continues her lifelong mission of community care, education, and hope.
Liz Gilmour is a highly respected family nurse practitioner and one of the founding forces behind Flowerstone Family Health Clinic in Qualicum Beach. With deep roots in community healthcare, Liz worked for many years as a registered nurse at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital before pursuing advanced practice as a nurse practitioner.
Her leadership and compassion helped shape Flowerstone into a welcoming, nurse-practitioner-led “Patient Medical Home,” where accessible, holistic, and patient-centred care thrives. Today, Liz continues to serve as clinic lead, supporting both her patients and the broader Oceanside community with dedication, kindness, and clinical excellence.

Beyond her professional life, Jolynn is also a lung cancer survivor, having courageously faced and overcome a rare form known as ALK. Her resilience and optimism shine through everything she does — inspiring those around her to tackle challenges with heart, purpose, and hope.
